It’s Mental Health Awareness Month and we’re here for it!
We came up with three things anyone can do during this month to celebrate mental health. Short and sweet.
1. Practice Self-Care:
Self-care is not selfish. Engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, improve concentration, minimize frustration and anger, increase happiness, improve energy, and more. We inhabit a Super VUCA world now so your own Mental Health should be Job 1. Find the right therapy cocktail that’s right for you. Today there are many simple, low-cost, or absolutely free options available and it’s only going to get better.
2. Practice Other-Care:
Check-in on friends and family. Support and encourage them whether or not they are being treated for any mental health problems. Assume everyone inhabits the same Super VUCA world as you, so likely they are also being affected in ways you do not see.
3. Bring Mental Health Out Into the Open
One of the best ways to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month is by talking about it openly. The more you talk about it, the more normalized it will become. This is one of the aims of the month as the stigma attached to mental health has constrained its acceptance in the past. Those days are gone forever thanks to Super VUCA.
